Carmarthenshire Falconry Steller's Sea-Eagle Fundraising project
Carmarthenshire Falconry Steller's Sea Eagle Fundraising Project

The Steller's Sea Eagle (Haliaeetus pelagicus) is endemic to the Russian Far East. The species is listed as vulnerable on the IUCN RED LIST and included in the Red Data Book of Russia and some regional Red Data Books as Rare. It is also protected by the CITES, Bonn Convention and bilateral agreements on the protection of migratory birds between Russia, the United States, Japan and Korea.

Carmarthenshire Falconry is very lucky to have been given on loan a Steller's Sea Eagle (Hector) from the International Centre for Birds of Prey. We are to train and fly him until a suitable mate can be found for a future breeding project.
While Hector is with us he is going to be helping bring awareness to the ongoing efforts that Russian and Japanese researchers (more charities to follow) are doing to help these beautiful birds in the wild. As agreed with DEFRA all money raised Through our educational programs and talks with Hector we will be donated to these charities in aid of wild Steller’s Sea Eagle.

Carmarthenshire Falconry's Nest Box Project
The Carmarthenshire Falconry Nest box project was initial set up as The Carmarthenshire Falconry Kestrel next box project, but we quickly realised we could help all different types of birds of prey.
All our boxes are made from recycled wood and with the help from Birds eye view.live there interactive technology allows us to offer the chance to monitor your nest box to see what is breeding and what kind of food is being fed to the youngsters.
This technology is especially good for schools and educational groups to allow the pupils the opportunity to monitor and record what happens without disturbing the birds.
